During her period of training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Kansas University and at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as an apprentice, coloratura soprano Etta Fung performed a wide range of roles from the Baroque era to the present. She made her professional debut in America singing Musetta in La Boheme at the Brevard Music Festival. Her European debut occurred in the Neue Eutiner Festspiele in Germany, singing Gretel in Hansel und Gretel. At the Trentino Music Festival in Italy, she sang Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, and at the Siena Festival, she performed the roles of the fairy in Cendrillon and the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. Etta was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera district auditions and the Naftger Competition.
